“El Dante” by Adelfo Galli
Franco met the sculptor Adelfo Galli for the first time in February 2015, in a coffee shop in Rome. A strong overlap in their feelings, their mindset, their working-class roots, their non-academic cultural backgrounds, and their love for literature gave root to an amazing piece of sculptural art, which was donated to the Holy Father Pope Francis on June 21, 2017. Up to eight original, authenticated copies of the complex may be made for purchase.
Friendship with Gabriele dell’Otto
Gabriele Dell’Otto is a well-known cartoonist and illustrator, best known for his work for Marvel Comics.
Franco and Gabriele met after Franco gave a talk on Dante in Rome. They immediately became friends and found that they shared the same desire to offer something beautiful to the world. From this common passion the project for an illustrated edition of the Divine Comedy was born, which would combine Gabriele’s illustrations and Franco’s commentary. Gabriele has already drawn some marvelous frames, which appeared on TV during the show Nel mezzo del Cammin.
